Problem statement

Micro case study: Filter pattern redesign

Advisors and staff struggled to understand and use the filtering experience. Unclear filter controls, limited visual feedback, inconsistent behavior, and confusion around when filters were applied made it harder for users to confidently find the information they needed.

To address these challenges, we redesigned the filter pattern around clarity, feedback, and consistency. The new experience makes it easier for users to discover available filters, understand their selections, see how those selections affect results, and confidently refine their search.
